The General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO) on Wednesday announced its decision to indefinitely postpone the Cairo International Book Fair, which had originally been scheduled for January and February.
The move came after GEBO Chairman Saber Arab received a letter from the Arab Publishers Association, saying that the timing of the scheduled fair conflicted with other planned Arab book fairs.
“The association suggested holding the fair after May,” said GEBO Deputy Chairman Helmy al-Nimnim. “But we received an invitation to participate in the Riyadh International Book Fair in March.”
