Egyptian Attorney-General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud on Wednesday ordered a travel ban on former prime minister Atef Ebeid, former culture minister Farouk Hosni, and current head of Egypt's state-run Radio and Television Union Osama al-Sheikh pending further investigations.
According to the official Middle East News Agency, Mahmoud also barred nine Egyptian businessmen from leaving the country, putting their names on watch lists at all of Egypt's sea- and airports.
Among those barred from travel were Amr Assal, president of the Industrial Development Authority; Medhat al-Meligy, president of the Federation of Agricultural Producers; Yassin Mansour, chairman of the Palm Hills Development Company and brother of former transportation minister Mohamed Mansour; along with prominent businessmen Helmy Abul Eish; Mohamed Abul Enein; Hamed al-Shimy; Adham Nadine; Nihad Ragab; and Nabil Abdel Azim.
