Egypt's foreign affairs minister on Sunday received a Palestinian delegation charged with reconciling differences between the territories' political parties.
Foreign Affairs Minister Nabil al-Arabi discussed the developments toward Palestinian reconciliation with the delegation, which was led by Moneib al-Masry, a Palestinian businessman. They also discussed efforts made by Egypt to end the divisions.
Al-Arabi highlighted the necessity of prioritizing national Palestinian interests over other issues.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu took part in the meeting after discussing the issues with his Egyptian counterpart. Davutoğlu said his country welcomes efforts made by Egypt to reach fair and comprehensive solutions for the problems between Palestinian political groups, saying Turkey was ready to contribute to the process.
Al-Masry said after the meeting that Turkey and Egypt will push reconciliation forward. He said Davutoğlu during the meeting proposed coordination between Palestinians and Egyptians.
Al-Masry said the delegation drafted a document for Egyptian officials to review.
