Foreign Minister Nabil al-Araby said Egypt welcomes the decision of Ban Ki-moon, secretary general of the United Nations, to run for another term, from 2012 to 2016.
Araby told the press that Egypt trusts Ban to attend to the economic and social development of African and developing nations in order to achieve the millennium development goals by 2015.
He added that he trusts Ban to use the UN and its specialized organizations to improve the conditions of people in every part of the world through the elimination of poverty and hunger and the spread of education and healthcare, as well as through the empowerment of women.
