The Egyptian Company for the Operation and Management of the Cairo Metro reopened the Abbasseya metro station on Saturday after calm seemed to be returning to the area.
The company closed the entrances to the station on Wednesday following clashes that took place within the vicinity the Defense Ministry.
Ali Hussain, the head of the company, said he would close any station in the vicinity of violent clashes to maintain the safety of citizens.
He added that the company was currently inventorying losses suffered in the Manshiet al-Sadr and Demerdash stations after they were stormed during clashes with military forces on Friday.
