The Head of the Acting Professions Syndicate Ashraf Zaki responded to news about the participation of Egyptian actor Michael Iskander in an upcoming Israeli drama series.
Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm on Monday, Zaki said: “I do not know who this young man is, and I have never seen him before. He is not registered with the union and has no relationship with it at all.”
Israeli newspapers reported about the participation of the Egyptian actor in a starring role in the Israeli series “House of David,” which will be released on an American digital platform soon.
Iskander will reportedly play the role of the Prophet David, alongside a number of Israeli actors.
Iskander, 22, confirmed in press statements that while he holds Egyptian citizenship, he lives abroad.
