The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation said that the total agricultural exports during the period from the first of January 2022 until the end of June has exceeded 3.75 million tons.
Egypt’s exports of potatoes reached a record for the first time in its history, exceeding 816,000 tons since January until now to the European Union, Arab and Asian markets, with an increase of 200,000 tons over the same period last year.
The total agricultural exports of citrus have exceeded 1.54 million tons.
Exports of onions reached more than 185,000 tons, ranking third in exports.
The ministry stated that grapes ranked fourth in agricultural exports, with a total of more than 75,000 tons, while beans ranked fifth in exports at 75,000 tons.
Egypt’s exports of sweet potatoes ranked sixth with a total amount of more than 39,000 tons, while tomato exports ranked seventh with a total of about 32,000, followed by strawberries in eighth place with a total of more than 19,000.
Garlic exports ranked ninth with a total amount of about 20,000 tons, while guava ranked tenth in Egyptian agricultural exports with a total amount of 7,000 tons, and watermelon ranked eleventh in agricultural exports with a total amount of 6,456.
