Ain Shams University encourages students to educate illiterates

Ain Shams University President Hussein Eissa said he will give a bonus of 25 points in the exams for any student who educates five illiterate people within the national project to combat illiteracy.

The university is carrying out a program that aims to educate two million illiterates across the country.

Professor Maysa al-Mufti said more than one million students of 23 different universities are participating in the project. “Our method is not based on memorization, but rather on positive participation and creativity,” she explained. “And NGOs are also joining the program.”
