Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh appoints female advisor for first time in history

For the first time in Al-Azhar’s history in Egypt, the  Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh, Ahmed al-Tayeb, appointed a female advisor to him.

Tayeb appointed professor Nahla Saeidi as an advisor to Al-Azhar grand sheikh for expatriate affairs.

Saeidi also heads the Education Development Center for Al-Azhar International Students.

Saeidi said her appointment as an advisor to Al-Azhar grand sheikh was a big responsibility and an honor at the same time.

Since 2015, Saeidi has been working on the file of expatriate students with Al-Azhar, through the Development Center for Al-Azhar International Students

The center is greatly supported by Al-Azhar grand sheikh and its system has been comprehensively developed in terms of infrastructure, curricula, and teachers since its inauguration, she said.
