The Pro-Morsy “Students Anti Coup” movement announced on Thursday that an Al-Azhar University student has died, after suffering injuries in a rally last weekend.
Youssef, who was studying history, was shot on Friday as police disbursed a pro-Morsy protest in the Helmeyet al-Zaytoon neighborhood in Cairo.
“Mohamed Sayyed Youssef does not have any political affiliations,” the movement said on its Facebook page.
A number of Egyptian universities, most notably Al-Azhar, are witnessing ongoing clashes between security forces and pro-Morsy students. The confrontations resulted in a number of student casualties and injuries.
