Al-Masry Al-Youm editor-in-chief resigns

Editor-in-chief of Al-Masry Al-Youm Mahmoud Mesallam resigned on Thursday.
 
The trusteeship council of Al-Masry Al-Youm issued a statement thanking Mesallam for his efforts during his tenure since February 2015 and wished him success on his future endeavors.
 
Mesallam, who has worked for the newspaper since 2004, took part in founding Al-Masry Al-Youm. He covered political and parliamentarian news and headed the political section of the newspaper. Mesallam was appointed as managing editor of Al-Masry Al-Youm. He left the newspaper in 2012 and worked as managing editor of Al-Watan newspaper. He returned to Al-Masry Al-Youm later in 2015 as editor-in-chief.
 
Mesallam was awarded the Arab Journalism Award by the Journalists' Syndicate. He contributed to launching Al-Hayat TV channels and Al-Hayat Al-Youm talk show. He hosted two talk shows, one on Mehwar Channel called "Montaha al-Seyasa" (Very Politics) and the other on Al-Hayat Channel called "Misr Toqarer" (Egypt Decides).
