Al-Masry Al-Youm's affiliated media development center announced it would start receiving applications for a free training course on journalistic writing to news websites on Wednesday.
The course will focus on the writing of features. Participants will be able to publish their articles on Al-Masry Al-Youm website.
This course comes as part of the institution's interest in developing the skills of talented students and young journalists, Al-Masry Al-Youm said Wednesday. Applicants should not be over 25 years old, should excel the English language, and should have a lap top. Applicants should send an email with their CVs to [email protected] and write in the subject: "Scholarship of Writing for Websites".
The application deadline is on 17 March 2015.
Applicants will undergo an exam where they would be required to write two articles, the first on the 25 January revolution anniversary and the second is an imaginary political, sporting, artistic or social article that can be read in Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper in 2050. Applicants will have to answer a question about what attracts youth to websites and what sort of storites the applicant can provide to them. The answer should not exceed 500 words.
The course will start in March 2015.
