‘Alam Mowazy’ series postponed after Donia Samir Ghanem contracts COVID-19

Actress Donia Samir Ghanem has contracted coronavirus, sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm, adding that her TV series “Alam Mowazy” (A Parallel World) has been postponed to the second half of Ramadan.

The series poster has been released, but a promo has yet to be launched due to the actress’s illness and subsequent disruption in filming.

Sources say that both Ghanem, her husband actor Hassan al-Raddad, and her mother actress Dalal Abdel Aziz have all contracted the virus.

The actress was also slated to take part in an ad for a mobile phone company along with her family. Ghanem’s father, actor Samir Ghanem, filmed several scenes of the ad as well as Abdel Aziz and Emy Samir Ghanem, but Donia could not carry out her part due to illness.

“Alam Mowazy” will air during the second half of Ramadan. It’s co-starring Abdel Aziz and Shaima Saif.

Donia has been associated with Ramadan artworks such as “Lahfa” series in 2015, “Fil Lala Land” (In the Lala Land) and “Badal al-Hadduta 3” (Instead of one story, 3) in 2019.
