The Coptic Orthodox cathedral in Alexandria apologized on Tuesday for not receiving any delegations offering Christmas felicitations.
Media spokesperson for the cathedral Kamil Seddiq said the cathedral, along with its affiliate churches, will undergo a state of mourning for the 23 people who died in a suicide bombing that targeted another Alexandria church on New Year's Eve.
According to Seddiq, Christmas celebrations at churches in the governorate will be limited to prayers, while a later date for accepting condolences is yet to be set.
