The referendum for Egyptian expatriates in Saudi Arabia went smoothly and should increase in the coming days, according to the Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah.
The Egyptian Ambassador to Riyadh Afify Abdel Wahab said he expected the turnout of voters to especially increase this weekend, when shuttles will be transporting voters from various remote areas in the country.
The Embassy said in a statement that today's turnout was average because it is a work day.
Abdel Wahab called on expatriates in Saudi Arabia to participate in the referendum, adding that according to the instructions of the High Elections Commission, a national ID card and automated passports will be required for any eligible voter in order to cast their vote.
