Egyptian media host Amr Adib revealed during his show on MBC Masr channel on Sunday the theft of a museum at Faculty of Arts in Sohag University of over 700 antiquities.
Adib said that the museum was robbed on Saturday, and that it held 15 pieces from the Pharaonic era, 90 pieces from the Greco-Roman era, 10 pieces from the Byzantine era, 20 pieces from the Christian era, and 539 pieces from the Islamic era.
Sohag security authorities announced that it is investigating the incident, but didn’t give details on the specific number of stolen artifacts.
