Anan meets with commander of US Air Forces Central Command

The chief of staff of Egypt's armed forces, Lt. Gen. Sami Anan, met on Monday with the commander of US Air Forces Central Command, Lt. Gen. David L. Goldfein.

According to the state-owned Middle East News Agency (MENA), during  the meeting, Annan, who is also the vice president of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), and Goldfein addressed a number of issues of common interest, including military cooperation.

The meeting was attended by several members of the SCAF, which has been running Egypt since the uprising of January and February this year.

Egypt receives an annual US$1.2 billion in military aid from the United States, and the two countries conduct joint military exercises.
