The Cabinet’s proposed anti-corruption program could save the country up to US$4 billion, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ashraf al-Araby said Thursday.
In his interview the Turkish Anadolu news agency, however, Araby did not release any details about the program or its relation to the National Anti-Corruption Commission that would be set up, as stipulated by the new Constitution.
The commission would be comprised of many regulatory authorities, including the Central Auditing Organization, the Administrative Supervisory Authority, the Public Funds Prosecution, the Central Bank’s anti-money laundering unit and the Illicit Gains Authority.
