The Arab Doctors Union's emergency committee dispatched a third convoy of medical aid to the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
The convoy included medical supplies, urgent needs of orthopedic surgery and others that the Palestinian government had requested.
Director of the emergency committee Ehab Abu Ali warned that the situation in Gaza was dire and represented a humanitarian catastrophe as medical supplies in Palestinian hospitals have reached dangerously low levels.
The committee has a list of needed medicines and medical supplies requested by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, equal to nearly US$10 million, Abu Ali said, adding that the committee has communicated with international institutions regarding the medicines and is working on supplying them itself.
Other medical convoys are being prepared to be dispatched if the situation in Gaza continues, according to Abu Ali.
