Arabic-language sound and light shows to be held at archaeological sites

The Misr Sound, Light and Cinema Company will organize daily sound and light shows in the Arabic language at archaeological sites during the mid-academic year vacation.

The shows will be organized at five archaeological sites including the Giza Pyramids at 5:30 pm, at al-Karnak area in Luxor at 6 pm, and at Philae area in Aswan at 9 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It will be held in Edfu and Abu Simbel areas daily depending on pre-booking.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Misr Sound, Light and Cinema Company Sameh Saad said that for the first time, a family ticket will be available at reduced prices to encourage Egyptian families to attend the shows.

The company is always keen to offer discounts to Egyptians and Arabs to boost tourism, he said, adding that the number attendees of the shows’ reached 100,000 during the 2017 mid-academic year vacation.

The tourism companies in charge of the Sound and Light Show have agreed to increase ticket prices for their shows up to LE150 at all Egyptian archaeological sites in May.

The Misr Sound, Light and Cinema Company notified the Egyptian Travel Agents Association of the dates and ticket prices ranging from LE100 to LE150 due to the huge jump in the dollar exchange rate against the Egyptian pound.
