Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz said the army and the intelligence bureau were assigned to construct 625 new soccer fields with synthetic grass and flood lights for a total cost of LE364 million, including 598 fields for five-player football for a cost of LE299 million and 27 full-team fields for a cost of LE65 million.
The minister added that the work would start this month for the smaller fields to be completed in February 2015 and the large fields in April 2015, pointing out that they were assigned to those two bodies in particular because they finish the work fast.
He added that the ministry has already completed 1,061 small fields and 64 large fields in all governorates.
