Three tourists died and four others were rescued, while an eighth one went missing after a mountain trip in Sinai's Saint Catherine Monday, army spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Ali said in a facebook statement late Monday.
Ali said the rescue was carried out by air forces in coordination with border guards. He said the tourists lost their way due to a snowstorm and the ruggedness of the area's geography, and were stranded there since Saturday.
He added that "Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ordered sending a rescue plane and land patrols to comb the area and search for the tourists."
