Authorities increase oil supply to meet summer demand

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation is preparing for an increase in demand for oil during the summer months.

EGPC head Hany Dahy said that gasoline supplies will be raised by 500 tons to 17,000 tons daily.

Dahy told Al-Masry Al-Youm that a shipment of 33,000 tons of gasoline will arrive in the country next Sunday, followed by other shipments.

Amr Mostafa, vice operation manager at EGPC, said the corporation allocated a large portion of its resources to finance the import of petroleum products, especially fuel for electricity stations.

Mostafa added that a permanent unit had been created to monitor the availability of fuel and the distribution of butane cylinders throughout the country.
