Bad weather conditions delay trial of Morsy, others over killing protesters

The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned on Sunday the trial of toppled President Mohamed Morsy and 14 others affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood, charged with killing protesters in front of the presidential palace in December 2012, until Tuesday due to bad weather conditions, the state-run website Egynews reported.

The sixth session of the trial on Saturday adjourned the trial to watch videos footage on CDs.

Court decided in the beginning of February to create a committee of three technicians to check the CDs, submitted by the prosecution over the incidents, which were claimed to contain evidence of assaults by Morsy supporters on opponents, resulting in their deaths and injury.

The court reviewed 13 out of the 34 videos. The defense then objected when the court noted that the two CDs had been seen, contradicting what was claimed by prosecution in the referral decision.
