Badei detained for 15 days pending investigations

South Cairo Prosecution have detained Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badei for 15 days pending investigations on accusations of clashes between supporters and opponents of deposed President Mohamed Morsy on al-Bahr al-Aazam street, which left seven victims and 101 injured.

 
Prosecution investigators headed to al-Aqrab prison on Monday to interrogate Badei and face him with outcome of investigations by the National Security Agency over inciting the bloody incidents on al-Bahr al-Aazam and al-Mahata streets. Interrogations also showed that Brotherhood militias fired shots on citizens from above Giza bridge, killing seven and injurying others, including a police officer from Bulaq al-Dakrour police station.
 
Prosecution also accused Badei of murder, possessing weapons, harming public security, hindering traffic, damaging public property and resisting authorities.
 
Prosecution earlier ordered the arrest of preacher Safwat Hegazy and Brotherhood figure Mohamed al-Beltagy for 15 days pending investigations on the same lawsuit.
