BBC announces new documentary on Mohamed Salah

The global network BBC has announced the launch of a new documentary about Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool FC player, titled “From Rural Egypt to the World Stage.”

This announcement comes while the Egyptian star is experiencing a state of turmoil within the corridors of Liverpool FC, stemming from the crisis caused by the statements he made following the Leeds United match, where he was completely excluded from participation.

The global network stated via its official account on the X platform: “From Rural Egypt to the World Stage, our new documentary about Mohamed Salah traces the ascent of the Liverpool forward to the top.”

Salah has been nominated for the BBC World Sports Personality of the Year 2025 award.

The Liverpool star is competing against the following nominees: Mariuma Caldentey (footballer), Terence Crawford (boxer), Armand Duplantis (pole vaulter), Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (sprinter/hurdler), and Shohei Ohtani (baseball player).
