Qalyoubeya security department’s explosive division defused a hand grenade placed by unknown elements under a police vehicle in front of Shubra al-Kheima Police Station on Wednesday.
Local residents were on edge, especially after a fire broke out at the court complex next to the police station on Tuesday.
Security corndoned off the police station and experts were able to defuse the amateur bomb. Prosecution was notified to conduct investigations.
The police station includes the criminal investigation department, Shubra al-Kheima city administration office and the western district office.
