Brotherhood ‘ready and able’ to vie for parliamentary seats

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) opposition movement is "ready and able" to compete in nationwide parliamentary elections slated for November, MB Shura Council member Mohamed Gamal Heshmat declared this week.

He went on to say that details about the MB's parliamentary candidates would be announced as soon as their nominations had been approved by the group’s Guidance Bureau.

Heshmat also pointed out that the group planned to field a handful of female candidates. “Running in elections is a difficult enough mission for men, let alone for women,” he said.

He also criticized the local media for its heavy coverage of electoral campaigns currently being waged by sitting government ministers.
