The Muslim Brotherhood's representative in Minya, Ali Omran, says the group reiterated its rejection of the newly appointed governor of Minya during a meeting with Security Director Mamdouh Maqlad.
Maqlad met with group leaders to ask their opinion about Samir Sallam, who was recently selected as the new governor of Minya.
“We told him the group rejects Sallam for alleged legal violations he committed when he was governor of Qalyubiya,” Omran said, adding that the group would escalate the matter if the governor was not removed.
