Brotherhood supporters convicted in Maadi violence case

Maadi Misdemeanor Court on Wednesday sentenced 18 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to three years in prison and fined each LE50,000 for clashing with police and residents of the Hadayek al-Maadi district last February, killing three people and wounding dozens of others.

Critics say these charges are politically motivated and aim to suppress opposition groups.
