Brotherhood to vote on reconciliation with Sisi regime

The Shura Council of the Muslim Brotherhood group will hold a meeting this weekend to vote on a document to reconcile with the current regime in exchange for the Brotherhood's return to political and social life, as was the case under former president Hosni Mubarak.

The group said the document will come into effect following the vote. This document was prepared by a committee composed by Acting Supreme Guide, Mahmoud Ezzat, and was published on the group official website.

The document acknowledges that many international powers reject the Brotherhood's return to any sort of authority in Egypt.

Wagdy Ghoneim announced the suspension of his membership to the group, in protest against the document, while sources said Youssef al-Qaradawi, leader of the group, threatened to freeze his membership if the document is not withdrawn.

In related news, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" finalized the draft document of the group's new political strategy, and distributed it to the leaders of its political bureau and members of its Shura Council. The document will be made official within days at a press conference in the Qatari capital of Doha.

Analysts believe that the most important part of the document is disengagement from the Muslim Brotherhood, in the light of improved relations with the current Egyptian regime.
