The Egyptian Civil Defense Forces in Cairo on Saturday extracted the bodies of four people from under the rubble of a seven-story building that collapsed in the Rod al-Farag area.
The bodies of the four victims and seven injured survivors were transferred to Nasser Institute Hospital.
The Public Prosecution went to the hospital to conduct the necessary examinations. The ages of the victims range between 15 and 56 years old, and one of them remains unidentified.
Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber and the Cairo Security Director inspected the site of the accident.
Repairs and renovations that were being carried out in one of the apartments in the building reportedly led to its complete collapse.
News reports added that two floors of the building were built illegally.
The collapse of the building resulted in the partial collapse of the building opposite it, causing the Civil Defense Forces evacuate its residents for their safety.
Civil Defense Forces are still searching for bodies under the rubble.
