The 100th birthday of the deceased director Henry Barakat (1914-2014) will be commemorated during the opening of the 36th session of Cairo International Film Festival
The commemoration will take place at an exhibition for photographs and paintings, which will be opened by the critic and director Hashem al-Nahhas, who wrote the first book on Barakat. Several actors will attend.
The Barakat exhibition was prepared by the critic and researcher Safaa al-Leithy, who made a 30-minute long film on life of the deceased director. The book on Barakat, issued by the festival and made by the critic Magdy al-Tayyeb, will be distributed at the exhibition.
