Police on Tuesday arrested the owner of a horse-drawn carriage and an unemployed accomplice for beating a horse to death in Cairo’s Waily district.
The owner explained that he had used a stick to try and rouse his horse after it had collapsed, only to have accidentally killed it.
Police found the dead horse in a street under the jurisdiction of the Zawya police station. After removing the carcass, the police then proceeded with the necessary legal measures.
