An uneasy calm was reported at Ettehadiya Palace in Heliopolis after clashes broke out the night before.
Clashes had erupted Tuesday between a group of unidentified assailants and protesters against the draft constitution.
The protesters and the unknown attackers fought each other using sticks, stones and empty bottles.
Meanwhile, opposition protesters continued their sit-in at the palace for the second consecutive week.
