The Internet Revolution Facebook page has launched a campaign to boycott Internet and communications companies, in order to pressure them to improve the service offered to the public.
The hashtag "The million-man demonstration to boycott telecommunications companies" was widely circulated on Twitter on Thursday.
The launchers called for boycotting the Internet and telecommunications companies for 5 hours every day, starting Thursday until October 25.
The reason behind the campaign, according to the page, is the companies' faliure to fulfil the promise to decrease Interrnet prices since May, and their advertisement spending, which could otherwise be used to improve the service quality.
"We will put our mobile phones on flight mode from 5 pm until 10 pm in protest against the poor communication and Internet services," the page said, pointing out that the campaign would imply large losses for the companies.
"You have to know that we are the power. Our demands will be implemented against your will. The Internet prices will be decreased and the speed will be increased," it added.
The page called on the participants to take a shot of their mobile screens and send the photos to be published on the page.
