Egypt's trade deficit increased to LE24.6 billion (US$3.2 billion) in April 2015, from LE16.11 a year earlier, the state's Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said on Tuesday.
The increasing in the trade deficit is due to a 15.7 percent jumping in imports' value in April, to stand at LE38.6 billion, as opposed to LE33.37 billion in April 2014, CAPMAS said.
Moreover, the exports' value dropped by 18.9 percent, standing at LE14 billion in April, while it was LE17.26 billion a year earlier.
