The US Central Command announced on Tuesday that its forces have begun a series of powerful military strikes against Iran, aiming to “impose a heavy cost” on Tehran following its targeting of commercial vessels carrying innocent civilian crews in an international waterway.
In its statement, the Central Command said the strikes were a direct response to Iran’s attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
It view Iran’s attacks as “unprovoked and dangerous” and a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.
