The Cairo Administrative Court turned down on Tuesday two appeals against the appointment of an interim board of directors for Al-Ahly Club.
The temporary board was appointed by the Youth and Sports Ministry in January 2016, to be headed by Mahmoud Taher, who had previously been elected as chairman of the club.
Taher was originally elected as chairman in March 2014, but his chairmanship was successfully challenged in a court case in December 2015, based on irregularities in the election procedures.
Since that time, the club has been under the control of the ministry-appointed interim board, with Taher temporarily in charge.
The current arrangement is due to continue until new elections can be held.
