Three people were killed and seven others injured in clashes between two families in in a village in Kom Ombo city, Aswan governorate.
Firearms and sticks were used during the fight in the Sabaa Bahary village. Preliminary investigations found that there had been old disputes between the two families over an irrigation ditch which were renewed after a quarrel that then developed into a gunfight.
Security forces moved to the scene and cordoned the village to control the situation and prevent any subsequent violence.
The corpses and injured were transferred to Kom Ombo Hospital, and the General Prosecution was notified to take over investigations.
