All 183 prisoners due to be freed from Israeli prisons Saturday have been released, an Israeli prison services spokesperson said, after Hamas earlier freed three hostages.

“The Prison Service concludes the fourth round of terrorist releases, as part of Operation ‘Wings of Freedom’ to return the hostages home,” the authority said in a statement.

The prisoners were transferred from several detention facilities across Israel to the country’s Ofer and Keziot prisons, before being released into Gaza and the occupied West Bank, the statement added.

Led by a Red Cross car, the convoy of buses carrying some of the prisoners was met by crowds in Khan Younis, Gaza, according to video footage. The former prisoners could be seen leaning out of the coach windows and waving to the crowds.
