A member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s media center, Manar Ghanem, announced cold rainy weather for the next two days, especially during the late hours of the night and early morning.
She explained that the minimum temperatures in Greater Cairo reached 10C, while the temperatures in some new cities, northern Upper Egypt and central Sinai reached less than 10C.
During a phone-in with TeN satellite channel, Ghanem stressed the importance of wearing warm winter clothes during the day and night, especially the early and late hours.
She assured that there would be sunny weather in the daylight hours, and that the temperatures as as normal for this time of year.
Weather conditions are pleasant in the north, moderate in the south, and the maximum temperatures over Greater Cairo range between 19C and 20C throughout daylight hours, with temperatures dropping significantly past sunset.
Ghanem said that with the decrease in temperatures during the night hours, mist will form on most agricultural and highway roads close to water bodies leading to and from Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, the northern coasts, and the governorates of Lower Egypt and northern Upper Egypt.
She explained that the density of mist began to increase and significantly affect the level of horizontal vision, and the date of its formation is during the late night hours and continues until the sun shines.
For the rain forecast during the next 48 hours, Ghanem said that there is a possibility of rainfall on the northwestern coasts of the country, such as Matrouh, Alexandria, and some areas of northern Lower Egypt, such as Buhaira, Kafr el-Sheikh and Dakahlia.
Rainfall ranges between light and medium from one region to another throughout the day.
The rest of the country will witness stable weather conditions and the absence of rain, and it is expected that the amounts of rain will increase by the middle of the week.
