Combat troops to protect police stations with live ammunition

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim has deployed combat troops armed with live ammunition to protect police stations and public installations targeted by supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsy.

Meanwhile, police and military forces blocked all roads leading to Rabaa al-Adaweya and al-Nahda squares.

Security sources said police officers have the right to self-defense and the use of arms, including live ammunition, adding that Morsy supporters have more heavy weapons than the police.
