Prime Minister Essam Sharaf will form a national committee to determine the total number of Egyptian workers that have returned from Libya and their losses, as well as the losses of Egyptian companies operating in Libya.
The committee, headed by the minister of manpower, will also examine the integration of returnees into the Egyptian job market, and push for their compensation.
It will furthermore determine the number of fatalities and casualties among them.
Minister of Manpower Ahmed al-Boraie said the cabinet has allocated LE100 million from the Social Development Fund to finance qualification programs for the returnees.
Al-Boraie told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the number of labor returnees is being determined through distributing forms to individuals and companies for that particular purpose.
