Communications Minister, UN chief’s envoy discuss prospects of joint cooperation

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has discussed with the United Nations Secretary General’s Envoy on Technology Amandeep Singh Gill prospects of joint cooperation in the ICT field.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the first Global Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Summit held in the New Administrative Capital on October 1-3.

During the meeting, Talaat praised the efforts made to issue the Global Digital Compact, which represents a new stage in the global agenda for digital transformation.

Talaat noted that the priorities of Egypt’s digital strategy are consistent with those of the United Nations, including data governance, artificial intelligence, the use of machine learning techniques, and providing access to the internet.

Meanwhile, Gill reviewed the most significant global developments and future trends in the digital infrastructure field, pointing out that the global framework for digital infrastructure guarantee management enhances the efforts exerted to build a digital economy.
