Coptic Church spokesman Bishop Paula met with Prime Minister Hesham Qandil to invite him to attend the ordination ceremony of the new pope, Tawadros II.
In statements to the press, Paula said Qandil was invited and asked to give the names of the ministers who will attend the ceremony so that their invitations will be printed and sent out.
Asked if President Mohamed Morsy will attend the ceremony, Paula said that in the five times a new pope was ordinated, the president did not attend, adding, "If he attends, this will be something new, and it will be a blessing."
