The Coptic Church has threatened to file a lawsuit against the interior ministry, demanding that it bring to trial those accused of bombing the Two Saints Church in Alexandria on New Year’s Eve, killing 24 people and wounding 100 others.
“The ministry has ignored numerous notifications by the church to the attorney general and the military council,” said Alexandria Confessional Council member Kamil Seddiq.
At the time, the ministry said the Palestinian Islamic Army, which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda, was behind the attack.
