Court sentences Azhar University staff to 10 years in prison

Nasr City Misdemeanor Court has sentenced two staff from Al-Azhar University to 10 years in prison each.
 
Dormitories chief Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim and the head of the university's kitchen nutrition department, Ali Mahmoud Abdel Hafez, were sentenced for allegedly poisoning students.
 
Eight chefs were also handed one-month prison sentences in the case.
 
 

East Cairo Prosecutions Attorney General Mostafa Khater had earlier referred Ibrahim and Abdel Hafez to court for negligence and involvement in poisoning students.
