Court suspends prison sentence for policeman accused of assaulting Sohag judiciary

The Sohag Criminal Court suspended a three-year prison sentence Tuesday, against a police officer accused of assaulting the judiciary, until a verdict is rendered in the appeals court.

The officer is accused of storming the headquarters of the Saqtla Prosecution and insulting it members.

As the suspension was also based on the fact that the members of the prosecution have waived their claim, the courts are awaiting the verdict so as not to jeopardize the police officer's career.
