A cruise ship in Aswan collided with one of the Kalabsha Bridge’s pillars while sailing on the Nile River on Friday, damaging the bow of the ship.
No casualties among passengers or crew were reported. Cruise ship traffic, which normally operates regularly in the area, was also unaffected.
The ship was on a seasonal cruise between Aswan and Luxor. Following the accident, it was towed to a specialized workshop for maintenance and repair of damaged parts.
Authorities moved to the accident site to conduct the necessary inspections and tests, and to take swift action.
An official source stated that a committee will be formed to inspect the bridge and take the necessary measures to restore everything.
